If you are concerned about the progress your child is making at school, you should first talk to the class teacher and the SENCO. You may also wish to talk to the Head Teacher.

If your concerns relate to the support your child is getting ask to see the school's policy on SEN, (which should describe how the schoolsupports children with special educational needs).

Many problems can be solved informally by talking to the teachers at your child's school. Before taking further action, make sure that you have shared your concerns.

Formal Complaints:

Your first step when making a formal complaint should be to put your concerns in writing to the Head Teacher. If you are not satisfied with the response write to the Chair of Governors.

The school's prospectus should include complaints procedures for parents.

If you require independent advice you may wish to contact Croydon's Parent Partnership Service - details are in the 'Contact Us' section of this website.
