Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

The IEP will only record what is extra and different from the normal educational provision.

The IEP should be referred to regularly, but there should be a more formal review at least 3 times a year. As part of the review you should be asked for your views on your child's progress. New targets/strategies can be devised and a new IEP issued. If necessary, previous strategies can be repeated.

It is Croydon's Education Policy that IEPs should be shared with parents/carers.

Inadequate Progress:

If your child has failed to make significant or inadequate progress they may need to move to Early Years Action Plus

Sometimes, as a result of a review, it is decided that more specialist or a higher level of support is needed. This is may be because the child:

Continues to make little or no progress
Continues to work at a level much below that of children of a similar age
Has emotional or behavioural difficulties which interfere with his/her learning and that of the group
Has sensory or physical needs which require additional equipment or support from a specialist service
Has communication difficulties which make it difficult for him/her to develop social relationships and cause barriers to learning.
