Every Secondary School has an Admissions Policy,
which describes how places will be offered. Croydon Community Schools
all have similar Admissions Policies, which are described in the Transfer
booklet. However, you should be aware that, Voluntary Aided School, Foundation
Schools and City Technology Colleges have their own individual Admissions
Policies, which you need to examine in detail if you attend to apply to
transfer to one of these schools. This information must be obtained from
the schools themselves, along with the application forms. Criteria vary
from school to school. It is essential to check each school's individual
admissions criteria to see if your child meets the requirements.
How to
choose the right school for your child if s/he has
special educational needs (SEN):
|
|
Before visiting,
make a list of your child's strengths, weaknesses and specific difficulties |
| |
|
|
Take your child
with you when you visit prospective secondary schools and take their
views into account before making your decision |
| |
|
|
During your visit,
make sure that the school makes you feel welcome and is interested
in you and your child |
| |
|
|
Gather as much
information as possible from staff, other parents and children who
are part of the school community |
